This guy deffinately has an ax to grind with somebody. Not sure who, and I hope it is not me! He'll appear in a future project which is top secret for the time being.

I missed blogging yesterday (hey, LOST was on tv), so here are two frog guys for the price of one. Where else are you going to find that type of deal on the web?

Here is a classic from my first book Freaks! Someone recently e-mailed me to see if it was okay to get this guy tattooed on his leg. I can't wait to see the final results!

OK. Here is another example from Gun Ho! which will be out in a month or so. It is supposed to show the different types of camouflage, but I can't help imagining them performing choreographed high kicks in unison.

Well I have just a few more images to post before October when we will kick off a month of scares where I'll post several of the images from Scared!: How to Draw Fantastic Horror characters, but until then here is another sneak peek at a character from next year's martial arts book.

Okay its friday and I'm going to let my hair down, as soon as I remember what shelf I left it on. Anyways here is something fun. I drew this and then had my kids color it. They make some interesting color choices, but they work fairly cheaply (one Oreo per pic.) so I may use them as colorists on my next book.

Perhaps the question most asked of me (besides where's your band?-hardy har har) is if I plan on doing another Freaks! book? I would love to! But untill that happens you'll have to settle for some of Brett's incredible tiger people in my upcoming martial arts How to Draw Book: Hi-Yah!

Sometimes a character goes through a couple different color schemes before they see print. This is one of the rejected schemes, what did I finally decide on? Buy Gung Ho! in late Oct. early Nov. to find out.

When Jimi Hendrix penned the classic song "Foxey Lady"I bet he wasn't thinking of this particular gal. She appeared in my first book "Freaks!" which continues to be my biggest seller. Thanks to all you loyal fur-fans.

Somedays everything clicks. I got this piece in the mail yesterday from Brett Booth. I inked and colored it all before lunch today. It will be featured in next Feb.'s Hi-Yah!: How to Draw Fantastic Martial Arts Characters.

The Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio is a great book by Terry Ryan, a childhood friend of my mother's, that has been adapted into a movie from Go Fish pictures.

It is fun to see a movie made about my little home town featuring familiar streets and family names.

I would encourage everyone to read the book and then go see the movie on Sept. 30.

Holy cow, I can't believe what you find when you clean out your hard drives. This was an about the author illustration I did for Freaks!: How to Draw Fantastic Fantasy Characters. I can't believe how far my understanding of coloring has come in the last few years.

Here is the same print in Black and White. I worked on this thing on and off for about 3 months before I finished it. Then it took me another couple of months to find time to color it. I love drawing for a living, but sometimes drawing things simply for fun get left for weeks at a time in my "to do" stack.
